F. Frist, Jr. College of Medicine (FCoM) at Belmont University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-eligible faculty position in Pediatrics. The successful candidate will join a collaborative, mission-driven faculty committed to developing an innovative, integrated medical curriculum grounded in whole-person care and dedicated to the College’s vision of transforming health through compassion and service.

The Assistant, Associate or Professor of Pediatrics will contribute to the academic mission of the medical college through teaching, research, and service. This position involves delivering high-quality instruction across the first two years of the curriculum, by integrating with other foundational and clinical disciplines to promote a system-based and patient-centered approach. This role is expected to mentor learners and engage in scholarly activities that advance the field of Pediatrics.

This role will also be participating in curriculum development and departmental initiatives to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.

• Deliver engaging and evidence-based pediatrics lectures, labs, and small-group sessions for medical and health science students.
• Develop, revise, and maintain course syllabi, learning objectives, and assessment tools aligned with accreditation.
• Integrate pediatrics content into interdisciplinary courses and clinical case-based learning.
• Utilize innovative teaching strategies, including active learning and technology-enhanced instruction.
• Mentor and advise students on academic progress and career development.

• Conduct original research in pediatrics or related biomedical sciences.
• Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at national/international conferences.
• Seek and secure external funding through grants and collaborative research initiatives.
• Supervise student research projects and foster scholarly engagement among learners.
• Stay current with advancements in pediatrics and incorporate them into teaching and research.

• Participate in departmental, college, and university committees to support governance and strategic planning.
• Contribute to accreditation processes and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Engage professional service through membership in relevant organizations and societies.
• Provide leadership in curriculum innovation and program development.

This is a full-time, 12-month, tenure-eligible faculty appointment in the Department of Foundational and Clinical Sciences. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Tenure-track faculty are evaluated on performance in teaching, scholarship, and service consistent with the Belmont University Faculty Handbook and College of Medicine criteria for academic advancement.
