The Exceptional Education Support Coach will be dedicated to supporting students in Department of Children's Services (DCS) custody who enter the district with significant behavioral, social-emotional, and educational needs. The coach will provide intensive behavioral and educational support for students with disabilities in Department of Children's Services (DCS) custody who require significant behavioral interventions. The coach will support both immediate and sustained improvements in student outcomes by increasing access to individualized behavioral supports, promoting educational stability, and strengthening access to the least restrictive environment.

This role will act as both a coach and a teacher and will be required to attend BID meetings across the district, work with assigned school psych for DCS students, provide direct services when needed.

• Establish immediate, intensive supports for students entering MNPS in DCS custody who demonstrate significant behavioral and social-emotional needs.
• Increase timely implementation of behavioral supports, including Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), and individualized transition plans for students entering the district.
• Improve collaboration among school teams, DCS personnel, related service providers, and families to ensure coordinated support for students.
• Build school staff capacity through coaching, modeling, and implementation of evidence-based behavioral interventions.
• Increase student engagement and participation in educational programming through individualized behavioral and academic supports.
• Will attend required BID meetings across the district.
• Will work with assigned school psychologists for DCS students, providing direct services when needed.
• Must maintain up-to-date knowledge of DCS-related laws, policies, and practices (i.e. educational surrogates, parental rights, etc.) through regular professional learning.

• Master's Degree Preferred

• 1-3 years of teaching or educational coaching experience Required

• Current Special Education Tennessee Teachers License (Comprehensive or Modified) Required

Starting At: $53,610.04

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
