Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, optimizing, and improving existing electronic products and PCBAs, with a strong focus on Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE). The role involves hands-on hardware design, prototyping, testing, and documentation of low-voltage (LV) and medium-voltage (MV) power electronics systems, ranging from 3kW to 1.6MW.
The engineer will work extensively in Altium Designer, collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, and support manufacturing, compliance, and certification activities across multiple global markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics engineering and a passion for innovation.
- Perform Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) exercises on existing PCBAs and power electronics designs to reduce cost, improve reliability, manufacturability, and component standardization
- Assess, prototype, and develop enhancements and new features for existing products through modelling, implementation, and testing
- Take system and product requirements and design hardware with backwards compatibility across multiple platforms
- Standardize components and sub-systems where feasible to improve scalability and supply chain resilience
- Modify and update schematics, PCB layouts, and BOMs using Altium Designer
- Design and document LV and MV power systems, circuits, and related components across the product range
- Work closely with compliance and certification teams to support regulatory requirements, including TUV, UL, CSA, IEC, IEEE, AS, and CE
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- At least 3-5 years' experience in PCBA design
- Proven experience in Value Analysis / Value Engineering of PCBAs and power electronics systems
- Strong experience using Altium Designer for schematic capture, PCB layout, and BOM management
- Experience designing or selecting mechanical elements around power electronics, including turn-key design and development
- Experience with EMC design, DFM/DFT principles, and design for volume manufacture
- Solid background in analog, digital, and power electronics
- Experience with high-power and high-current systems (kW to MW range)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
