We are looking for an individual who has experience creating scalable solutions to complex engineering problems. In this role, the Project Engineer will be responsible for designing, managing and executing the next generation of delivery station processes, equipment, and operations.

As a customer-obsessed leader, you will play an integral part in planning and implementing delivery station infrastructure, including new builds, retrofits, expansions, and program initiatives. Your critical tasks will include partnering with internal customers and internal/external stakeholders to engage as a team and ensure timely project handover.

Key competencies of this position include insisting on the highest standards ensuring that contracted resources meet schedule, budgetary, safety and driving quality targets; analyzing and deep diving systems performance, inventing and simplifying solutions that allow for improved processes and results; and providing technical expertise to internal customers and stakeholders. This position requires up to 85% travel.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive program delivery to meet timeline goals while exceeding quality standards
  • Lead complex cross-functional projects in ambiguous environments, providing clear direction and decision-making
  • Participate in full system development lifecycle, including test plan execution and quality assurance
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects while effectively influencing and negotiating with internal/external partners
  • Conduct technical deep dives into advanced technology applications, conveyor systems, and material handling integration
  • Develop innovative solutions through collaboration with vendors, suppliers, and cross-functional teams
  • Build comprehensive knowledge of Operations and Engineering systems, processes, and procedures
  • Define project scope, delivery timelines, and budgets while driving improvements through data analysis
  • Develop and manage contract documentation, including RFPs, change orders, and purchase order approvals
  • Design optimal solutions for delivery network, considering equipment specifications, material flow, and ergonomics
  • Coordinate across IT, Engineering, Safety, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams
  • Serve as primary company representative in vendor and supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with Amazon and vendor safety policies throughout project lifecycle
  • Monitor project milestones, schedules, and budgets, implementing corrective actions as needed
A day in the life

In this dynamic role, you will oversee the quality implementation of diverse projects, each varying in scope, complexity, and duration. You will coordinate with operations teams and contractors to execute project activities and manage changes effectively. You will conduct analyses of project progress, schedules, and resources, identifying challenges and developing innovative solutions to drive successful resolutions.

Leadership and communication are central to this position, as you’ll facilitate planning and implementation meetings with key stakeholders to ensure alignment on objectives, expectations, and next steps. You will capture and distribute comprehensive meeting notes to drive accountability and follow-through on actions and decisions.

Quality assurance is a critical component of your role, including reviewing and approving audit mechanisms and documentation. You will track weekly installation opportunities and develop creative workaround solutions when facing project delays or design challenges. The role involves hands-on participation in acceptance testing, evaluating systems installation quality, safety protocols, throughput, and performance qualifications.
