• Supervise controls engineers and other staff.
• Assist engineers to identify areas for technical and career development.
• Partner with manager to develop engineering department through leadership, training, and continuous improvement.
• Manage several on‑going projects concurrently, including staffing, workload issues, and meeting project timelines.
• Design controls equipment to meet customer requirements.
• Responsible for leading cross‑functional technical teams throughout the lifecycle of various projects.
• Assist with the successful management of assigned programs as they relate to cost, quality, timing, and customer satisfaction.

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, related field, or equivalent experience, calculated as two (2) years of relevant work experience for each year of academic study OR an associate’s degree with 2+ years of related experience.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• 2+ years leading technical projects.
• Knowledge to lead others and positively influence engineer’s development and progression.
• Breadth and depth of experience with automation products, services, and the industry.
• Ability to identify systemic issues to improve department efficiency.

• Travel up to 25% to customer sites & other JR locations.
• Current or prior JR Automation, or experience in the automation industry is strongly preferred.
• Present to colleagues and company management.
• Lead teams and influence project direction and progress.
• Serve as a technical expert and leader in the department.
