We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Engineering team. In this role, you will design innovative and efficient mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection systems that support functional, sustainable building environments. You’ll collaborate across disciplines and with clients to deliver quality, high-performance designs from concept through construction.
This role can be based out of Nashville, Tampa, Orlando or Chicago.
Responsibilities- Prepare mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering reports, drawings, and specifications for building projects.
- Develop and produce engineering calculations and design documentation.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate engineering work within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Review, interpret, and revise engineering documents to align with project goals and standards.
- Conduct technical research and apply findings to innovative design solutions.
- Select and size equipment and components for building systems.
- Participate in contract bidding and administration; observe construction progress to ensure design intent is maintained.
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal team members to achieve project objectives.
- Help resolve complex design challenges, including conflicting requirements, unconventional materials, and coordination constraints.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design of mechanical, plumbing, and/or fire protection systems for building projects.
- Professional licensure is a requirement.
- Proficiency with Revit and IESVE.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering and architectural design principles, practices, and techniques.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a collaborative environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; strong team orientation.
