We’re looking to add a high‑impact engineer to our team in Nashville. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost‑effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers’ primary point of technical contact for your projects. Once the design is completed and approved, you will hand‑off the project to our Ops Engineering team, who will oversee installation and commissioning, and you’ll support them to ensure the system you’ve designed is successfully launched.

Your projects will include green‑fields, brown‑fields, and retrofits, and will cover fulfillment centers, cross‑dock facilities, specialty facilities (e.g., reverse logistics, hazmat) and ground and air transportation centers throughout North America and Europe. Your work will involve a variety of template‑based and designed‑from‑scratch solutions.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast‑paced, often ambiguous environment, handling hundreds of projects each year. This role offers high impact, high visibility, and significant growth opportunities.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to design high‑quality, cost‑effective fulfillment and distribution solutions.
• Own multiple projects from concept through design approval, managing project timelines and deliverables.
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for suppliers.
• Coordinate hand‑off of projects to Ops Engineering for installation and commissioning.
• Support Ops Engineering to ensure successful installation, commissioning, and launch of designed systems.

• 5+ years of design & innovation, research & development experience.
• College degree in Engineering or a foreign equivalent.
• Experience managing engineering design projects.
• Proficiency with technical software such as MS Excel, MS Project, and CAD tools.
• Up to 20% travel required.

• 5+ years of specialty experience with progressive responsibility.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Knowledge of system architecture, optimization, system dynamics, system analysis, statistical analysis, reliability analysis, electronic system design, and decision making.
• Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and high‑speed manufacturing.
• Experience with design‑in‑safety.

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
