Our client is seeking a detail oriented Environmental, Health and Safety Professional to support EHS initiatives that drive down safety incidents and non-compliances. The ideal candidate will possess experience designing, building and implementing foundational EHS programs that comply with regulatory requirements and foster a culture of safety.
Responsibilities- Support strategies to cultivate our EHS mission, vision, and culture.
- Ensure facilities compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
- Develop safety policies/procedures and training to ensure understanding and implementation of EHS requirements by leaders and team members.
- Enhance processes and policies including risk management, facility safety, incident management, injury reporting, workers’ compensation administration, and more.
- Conduct incident investigations and lead post-accident problem solving.
- Develop and administer EHS training.
- Maintain an EHS database to utilize data/analytics to maintain accurate safety records, analyze trends, and drive decision-making.
- Routine documentation, record keeping, hazard assessments, and safety audits.
- Manage chemical safety programs (inventory management and new chemical approval).
- Accurately characterize and classify waste streams per RCRA regulations.
- Assist teams in managing Satellite Accumulation Areas (SAA).
- Draft, review, and sign Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifests. Maintain precise waste management records.
- Prepare and submit environmental regulatory reports.
- 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in environmental, health and safety programs in manufacturing, or service operations.
- BS/BA in technical disciplines related to Environmental Health and Safety, preferred.
- Experience creating, launching, and/or maintaining best-practice EHS programs.
- Deep understanding of EPA RCRA regulations (40 CFR) regarding waste identification, generator status, and container management.
- Working knowledge of DOT 49 CFR regarding the shipment of hazardous materials (labeling, placarding, and packaging).
- Familiarity working in a fast-paced, quickly evolving environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills while partnering with employees ranging from associate level to Directors and VPs.
- Analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficient with Google Suite and EHS Management software and tools.
- Knowledge of local, regional, and national compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Industry-recognized occupational health and safety certifications preferred.
Compensation: $42 - $56 per hour
