Full‑time position.
CRB is a leading professional services firm in the life sciences and food & beverage industries. The Design Process Engineer III leads design for defined scopes such as an area or series of unit operations or systems, managing scope, budget, and schedule under their purview.
We are open to providing relocation assistance for qualified candidates. This position operates in a hybrid work model, which requires the employee to live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Atlanta, GA location and report onsite as needed.
Responsibilities- Frequently communicate and coordinate with internal and external architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, trade partners, and vendors.
- Manage multiple complex tasks, establish priorities and direct the work of others, working independently or under the direction of the Lead Engineer or Project Manager.
- Continuously develop internal and external technical networks.
- Establish trusted relationships with clients, vendors, and other external counterparts.
- Support activities outside the team such as Technical Advancement, Vertical Markets, and other leadership opportunities.
- Support the generation of deliverables or participate in activities requiring more experience, deeper understanding, or increased complexity such as:
- Technical Bid Tabulations
- Vendor Package Management
- Factory Acceptance Testing
- Risk Assessments
- HAZOP/HCCP/Etc.
- 3D Model Review and Coordination
- Prepare Sequence of Operations and review Functional Specifications
- Participate in cross‑discipline squad checks and discipline checks for small projects of intermediate complexity and drive overall project quality.
- Provide mentorship to junior discipline and design staff.
- Lead project system design programming and planning with support from Lead or Senior Engineer.
- ABET‑accredited Bachelor’s degree in a discipline‑specific field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in an operating company, design firm, AE firm, or related industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience developing P&IDs, process layouts, and design deliverables.
- Intermediate experience with applicable industry and regulatory guidance and statutory building codes.
- EIT or PE is preferred.
- Highly proficient at performing complex engineering tasks with limited supervision.
- Experience coordinating and managing a design within a project team or with construction trade partners and vendors.
- Experience with supporting construction activities such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, punch list development, and construction progress reports.
- Basic experience with commissioning, startup, qualification, operating or troubleshooting issues with process systems.
