Project Director/SPM - HVAC, Plumbing & Process Piping - TN
Gryphon Oakwood are currently working on a Project Director role to work on large scale data center, power and high‑tech manufacturing new construction and retrofit projects. For a leading national mechanical contractor based in their Tennessee office, with a strong reputation in HVAC, Plumbing and Process Piping for Data Centers, Life Science and High-Tech facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Provide overall leadership and strategic oversight for large‑scale data center, power, and high‑tech manufacturing new construction projects.
- Direct project execution from preconstruction through commissioning, ensuring safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met.
- Lead, mentor, and develop project teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Superintendents.
- Collaborate with clients, design teams, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Oversee contract administration, risk management, change management, and overall project financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Support business development efforts, including pursuit strategy, preconstruction planning, estimating input, and client relationship management.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience delivering large-scale mechanical construction projects
, with a focus on data centers, power, and high‑tech manufacturing environments
. - Proven leadership experience managing multi‑million‑dollar projects and cross‑functional teams.
- Strong technical background in HVAC, plumbing, and process piping for commercial and industrial facilities.
- Comprehensive understanding of scheduling, budgeting, and contract management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working for a national mechanical contractor and supporting mission critical clients preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required.
