Civil Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global’s client is seeking a skilled engineer to join their growing construction team. The client specializes in designing, engineering, constructing, and maintaining physical and electronic security systems for high‑risk assets across governmental, commercial, and industrial sectors worldwide. This role supports the client’s growth by strengthening the engineering team’s capacity to support internal and external customers.

• Develop design‑build construction drawing packages, including:
  • Demolition and existing conditions
  • Civil site plans
  • Civil details
  • Electrical site plans
  • Single‑line diagrams
• Collaborate with engineers to research and develop new proprietary products, including planning full‑scale crash tests
• Develop standard drawing details
• Prepare proprietary product documentation such as data sheets, shop drawings, O&M manuals, specifications, and installation manuals
• Prepare material and equipment submittals
• Develop threat paths and perform calculations for threat scenarios when designing security site plans
• Liaise with vendors to ensure materials meet specifications
• Prepare site layouts and assist estimating with material take‑offs from bid drawings
• Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, and field technicians to modify construction drawings as needed based on site conditions
• Conduct project site investigations to gather information on existing conditions, field measurements, and other items supporting design development
• Prepare as‑built drawings and closeout documents in conjunction with project managers and field personnel

• Minimum of two years of experience in an engineering or drafting role
• Highly proficient with AutoCAD (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or engineering technology (required)
• Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (required)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Skill in writing and editing content with keen attention to detail
• Experience with Procore project management software or a similar platform preferred
