Technical Infrastructure Program Manager, Electrical Engineering

Overview

The Global Energy Sustainability & Automation Electrical Engineering team is seeking a Technical Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to oversee the installation and upgrade of electrical power systems at facilities in North America. The TIPM will manage the full lifecycle of electrical distribution upgrades from project identification through implementation. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated individual with a deep understanding of electrical power systems and experience in strategy, design, construction, and maintenance.

This role is critical to our organization’s commitment to maintaining safe, reliable, and cost‑effective electrical distribution systems.

• Identify sites and develop conceptual designs for upgrades of low voltage and medium voltage electrical distribution systems.
• Partner with outside electrical engineering firms and electrical contractors to implement solutions compliant with Amazon and relevant industry standards.
• Perform project estimates and financial return on investment calculations.
• Secure and oversee funding of projects/programs.
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Support operations, construction, and other relevant departments with product development and testing.
• Conduct equipment failure investigations and provide mitigation solutions.
• Monitor trends in electrical system reports and raise issues to drive improvements or immediate corrective actions.
• Travel 50% to facilities across North America.
• Provide 3‑4 weeks annually of 24/7 on‑call electrical engineering support.

• 3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience.
• Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software).
• Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience in the electrical engineering field.
• 5+ years of distribution or manufacturing field with equivalent mechanical or electrical field experience.
• Knowledge of electrical engineering principles including switch gear, UPS, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• In-depth knowledge of power system analysis tools and methodologies.

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Reliability, Quality Management, or similar applicable field.
• Experience managing complex electrical power system projects in a variety of industries.
• Extensive knowledge of Reliability Centered Maintenance Planning, CMMS, and Enterprise Asset Management tools.
• Success developing metric suites and applying facts/data to drive process improvement.
• Experience defining and owning program strategy, end‑to‑end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership independently with limited guidance.
