Construction Materials Laboratory Technician – Nashville, TN

Responsibilities- Develop skills required for specialized laboratory testing.
- Compile accurate and detailed data, reports, and laboratory analyses.
- Perform calculations utilizing basic mathematical skills.
- Maintain routine laboratory instruments and testing equipment according to manufacturer's instructions and relevant ASTM standards.
- Use correct techniques and materials in accordance with industry standards, (e.g., ASTM AASHTO).
- Perform or schedule the calibration of testing equipment at the frequency required by the ASTM and AASHTO standards and maintain the official records for the calibration activities.
- Respond to AMRL and CCRL proficiency testing non-conformities.
- Perform the testing for relevant ASTM standards during on-site assessments by both AMRL and CCRL representatives.
- Demonstrate compliance with all required safety protocols.
- Attend or complete weekly safety meetings or topics.
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. College coursework or degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience in Bentley gINT and AutoCAD preferred.
- Communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping and detailed laboratory analyses, reports, and field notes.
- Work additional hours and weekends to complete tasks on or ahead of schedule.
- Keep work areas orderly and assigned equipment and vehicles clean and in good working order.
- Be responsive and professional when interacting with clients.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance along with polite and respectful behavior.
- Demonstrate compliance with all required safety protocol.
- Detail-oriented and organized with electronic information as well as physical samples.
- Must be able to lift and/or move at least 50 pounds.
