Job Summary: Salas O'Brien is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join a unique co-located design team supporting the development of a world-class, net-zero corporate headquarters for a leading global healthcare organization in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Electrical Engineer serves to provide technical leadership for the creation of construction drawings and specifications, existing system studies and master planning efforts. Qualified candidates will meet with clients, project teams, code officials, MEP equipment manufacturers, contractors, and others to address mechanical design requirements and develop effective working relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Develop electrical system designs of a given project based on scope of work and/or client RFPs
  • Provide engineering design, evaluation, and planning of electrical systems for hospitality, science and technology, and commercial projects
  • Coordinate design with owner requirements, architectural design, and other specialty consultants
  • Conduct existing building surveys and documentation of existing electrical systems
  • Develop system design calculations and selection of equipment for use in buildings
  • Write and edit project specifications
  • Prepare detailed design documents, reports, and studies
  • Apply applicable code requirements to each project
  • Coordinate work with other disciplines
  • Provide construction administration services
Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is an asset
  • 3 – 5 years of electrical design experience
  • Knowledge in the design of power distribution, fire alarm, data & communication, lighting, and emergency power systems
  • Knowledge and understanding of codes, standards, and design guidelines
  • Excellent work ethic and attitude
  • Experience working with a multi-discipline team
  • Good communication skills, combined with organizational skills, the ability to plan, balance, and prioritize work
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and MS Office
