- Execute precision mechanical work in high‑voltage electrical substations across diverse geographical regions under the guidance of senior technicians
- Work side‑by‑side with experienced Field Service Technicians to learn transformer maintenance, service procedures, and troubleshooting techniques
- Apply technical, mechanical, or military‑acquired skills to real‑world field service applications
- Conduct equipment inspections and diagnostic assessments to support preventive maintenance efforts
- Assist in servicing and repairing transformer systems using established processes and tools
- Learn to analyze technical data and apply findings to critical customer challenges
- Operate Vacuum Oil Processors (VOPs) and oil handling equipment with training and oversight
- Maintain accurate processing logs and support transformer testing activities
- Utilize digital tools and software platforms for documentation and site reporting
- Collaborate with engineering teams, senior field staff, and customers to support maintenance strategies
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, and internal procedures
- High School Diploma/GED plus 2+ years of professional work experience in technical or mechanical fields
- Relevant military training or experience is considered equivalent and strongly encouraged
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and ability to travel up to 85% nationwide
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform demanding tasks for extended periods
- Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions for up to 12 hours daily
- Class A CDL preferred for operating specialized service vehicles
- Welding certification or experience preferred for enhanced field capabilities
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
