Construction Materials Technician
Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic entry-level Construction Materials Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in a laboratory setting.
This role offers in-house training and the opportunity to work closely with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives to ensure project requirements are met efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities
+ Test concrete for slump, density, and moisture in the laboratory.
+ Communicate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, and contractor representatives regarding construction site, project requirements, and testing, observation, and inspection requirements and results.
+ Transport material samples with associated identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.
+ Tabulate, prepare, and submit data and observations in the form of written and digital reports for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.
+ Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles, and work areas.
+ Assist with scheduling and dispatch of Technicians to project sites.
+ Adhere to strict safety standards.
+ Provide clear documentation of findings and results.
+ Progressively assume increased roles of training and responsibility in work assignments.
Essential Skills
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Strong computer skills to log daily field reports and send emails.
+
Experience with ACI, concrete, construction materials testing, and concrete inspection.
+ Familiarity with nuclear density gauge equipment.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Certifications such as ACI level are a plus.
+ Previous construction materials testing experience is a plus.
+ Bachelor's or Associate's degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or a related field.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.
