Engineering Co-Op Process Engineering

Viskase operates a viscose chemical extrusion facility in Loudon, Tennessee and is seeking a student to fill a full-time 15‑month position as a co‑op student in the Corporate Process Engineering department.

The Engineering Co‑Op Program provides students with hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment, supporting process improvement, quality, and efficiency initiatives. The program develops practical engineering skills while building a pipeline of talent aligned with the organization’s operational needs.

• Support Corporate Process Engineering activities. Including the following:
• Work on setting up Asset Framework and tag points in newly installed PI System
• Assist with the installation of instrumentation and hardware on new process machine under construction.
• Programming of Instrumentation
• Maintain revisions and updates to drawings, P&IDs and project spread sheets.
• Assist with Inventory Control.
• Order and track materials as needed for Engineering projects.
• Technical interface with external and internal customers.
• Assist plant operations in a technical capacity with troubleshooting controls related issues
• Other tasks as assigned

Completion of 2 years of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering program or a program in a closely related field (required)

• No experience required

• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• The co‑op student is always expected to work safely, in accordance with Viskase policies & procedures and generally recognized best practices.
• The co‑op student should be eager to learn – there is a large learning curve to the chemical & mechanical processes taking place at Viskase.
• Excellent organizational skills
