Job Description
Dewberry is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer
- Healthcare in Nashville, TN
.
Responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources in all areas of work we do, including all types of healthcare associated with mechanical engineering. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client’s desires and budget. Work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. In addition to working with mechanical engineers, this individual will team with architectural, electrical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients.
In short, provide technical guidance associated with mechanical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Mechanical Discipline Manager.
- Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:
- Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving mechanical engineering.
- Technical training and development of staff.
- Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for mechanical discipline area.
- Engineer of Record.
- Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
- Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
- Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (example through Comity) within the State in which the position is posted within six (6) months.
- 10+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of mechanical systems for healthcare projects.
- Experience should include design and evaluation of central chilled water and boiler plants, HVAC design of various departments/spaces found in a typical hospital, ambulatory surgery centers, freestanding emergency departments, medical office buildings, technical oversight of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
- Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized, takes good notes.
