Location

Tennessee—primarily Nashville, with flexibility to work in Chattanooga, Knoxville, or Nashville. Travel to the Knoxville office may be required.

Responsibilities
  • Lead roadway design projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists in roads, bridges, structures, traffic engineering, intelligent transportation systems, and public transit.
  • Review draft designs for regulatory alignment and update design requirements as necessary.
  • Conduct site reviews and inspections of transportation structures to guarantee construction quality.
  • Work closely with sales staff to develop proposals that meet client needs and foster strong client relationships.
  • Attend conferences and symposia to stay current on industry trends and provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Perform domestic and/or international travel as required by the role.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • Ten years of related experience, or an equivalent amount of directly related experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.
Skills and Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of computer-assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering design principles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Basic knowledge of design standards (AASHTO, NACTO, etc.).
