Our client is looking for a skilled Reliability Engineer with experience in mining, mineral processing, or metals production. This role will provide technical support to improve plant reliability by reducing equipment failures and eliminating production and maintenance waste, as well as support the development and standardization of operating and maintenance procedures to ensure consistent best practices.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic- Identify critical equipment and assess failure risks and consequences
- Conduct failure modes analysis (FMEA/FMECA)
- Develop and optimize maintenance strategies
- Establish and track KPIs for equipment performance
- Develop and apply condition-based maintenance (CBM) tactics
- Monitor OEE and KPI performance, addressing variances
- Lead root cause analyses (RCA) and implement improvements
- Define control limits for equipment/process performance
- Submit and implement (as required) projects to improve plant reliability.
- Lead reliability improvement projects
- Provide troubleshooting support to maintenance teams
- Perform equipment audits and lifecycle cost analyses
- Review equipment performance data and support change management evaluations
- Ability to foster an environment of teamwork with clear, professional communication.
- Skilled at breaking situations down to identify key issues, develop solutions, and gauge the most appropriate course of action.
- Ability to use a range of leadership styles to guide self and others toward goal achievement and high standards of performance.
- Strong understanding of the impact of actions and decisions on people and the broader organization, with the ability to establish and execute long-range plans.
- Demonstrated commitment to proactively eliminating potential hazards for self, others, and the environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
- 8–10 years in heavy industry; 3+ years in maintenance/project engineering
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with RCM, RCA, FMECA, and CMMS systems
- Effective communication, teamwork, and facilitation skills
- Ability to drive improvements, manage change, and prioritize safety and performance
