Job Description:
Dewberry is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Nashville, TN. This role involves providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources across all areas of work, including electrical engineering in healthcare projects. The engineer will assist Project/Client Managers to meet the client’s desires and budget, work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects, and collaborate with architects, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to deliver full-range services.
The engineer will report to the Electrical Discipline Manager.
Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:
- Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
- Technical training and development of staff.
- Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for the electrical discipline area.
- Engineer of Record.
- Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions—technical and cost estimates.
- Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
- Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (e.g., through Comity) within six (6) months of posting.
- At least 7 years of progressive technical experience in designing power distribution, generator powerhouses, medium‑voltage campus distribution, fault studies, overcurrent coordination, load flow, arc flash, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on healthcare and commercial projects.
- Experience managing multiple projects with proven success delivering technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards on time and within budget.
- Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Well organized and takes good notes.
