About the Role
We are currently looking for a VDC Specialist to join our VDC team located at our office in Nashville, TN. The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year of experience with plumbing design and fabrication. In this role, you will support the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team by assisting in the creation, management, and coordination of 3D models and drawings for plumbing systems.
This position is ideal for someone with a passion for plumbing systems and an interest in leveraging technology to enhance project outcomes.
- Generating detailed deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of plumbing systems within the overall building model.
- Designing and modeling plumbing systems based off P&IDs, Design drawings or Engineering markups.
- Providing technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.
- Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.
- Supporting the field and shop operations through the project lifecycle.
- Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project codes, specifications and standards.
- An associate’s degree in applied science and/or equivalent relevant experience in CAD Drafting, engineering, construction management, or a similar field is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience plumbing design, VDC, or a related field.
- Knowledge of IPC, UPC or other plumbing codes.
- Familiarity with REVIT, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Planner. Overall strong computer skills are expected.
- Willing to travel on an as needed basis for project needs and team collaboration.
- The ability to work within an environment with deadlines, and when tasked with multiple duties your attention to detail stays consistent.
- Strong work ethic with the capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in identifying potential problems or risks and developing creative solutions.
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
