Neel‑Schaffer is accepting applications from qualified candidates for an ITS Project Manager to support the continued growth of our Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) practice. This position can be based in our Nashville or Murfreesboro offices in Tennessee.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to impactful transportation projects for state and local agency clients while gaining hands‑on experience with emerging ITS technologies. The position also provides a clear pathway for long‑term career development within a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering firm.

Responsibilities- Manage and lead the planning, design, and implementation of ITS and transportation systems projects.
- Provide oversight over preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.
- Develop systems engineering documentation, including concepts of operations and requirements.
- Coordinate with DOT clients, municipalities, vendors, and internal project teams.
- Provide technical support for traffic operations analysis, system integration, and device selection.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred), Electrical Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related field.
- 5
-10+ years of relevant ITS engineering experience. - Tennessee PE licensure or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
- Experience with ITS infrastructure such as traffic signal systems, detection, CCTV, DMS, communications, or traffic management systems.
- Familiarity with TDOT standards and transportation agency processes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Micro Station, Bluebeam. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team oriented environment.
- Willing to work in office and field conditions.
- Longstanding presence and strong reputation in the transportation and ITS markets.
