Lake Superior Consulting is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III Nashvilleto join our team.
ResponsibilitiesAbility to provide engineeringexpertisefor mechanical design, oversee the development of drawing packages, estimating, and functions for projects involving pipelines, process sites, and other energy industry related facilities.
Willingness to provide technicalassistanceto Engineering and Operations Departments to resolve operating problems or toestablishbest operating practices.
Willingness to take initiative todeterminebest paths forward for effective project execution.
Effectively complete projects using engineering principles and techniques.
Read and interpret P&, technical drawings, schematics, equipment specifications, industry codes, and technical reports.
Produce details for project specifications and develop design requirements for projects.
Confer with other engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
Perform basic modifications to computer aided design (CAD) and drafting functions toassistin completion of project deliverables.
Possess knowledge of materials and material specifications
Perform design analyses, engineering calculations, andwritetechnical reports.
Work with CAD designers to develop drawing packages suitable for project construction.
Providedirectionto more junior personnel.
Professional Engineers willbe required to approve andstampengineering designs.
Position RequirementsEducation, Certifications/Licenses,
Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, from an accredited university
3+ years of working experience required.
EITrequired, PE preferred
Knowledge, skills, and abilitiesAbility to quickly adapt to diverse needs and changing projects.
Willingness and eagerness to learn new skills.
Ability to work in group settings with a project team and collaborate effectively with others.
Competency with Microsoft office suite (word, excel, outlook, etc.).
The position will typically require less than 15% travel but could be more intensive at times.
Ability to independently perform engineering design functions.
Physical Requirements and DemandsFrequent periods of standing forlong periods, especially when traveling to project sites.
Occasional lifting inup to 50lbs.
During travel,possible exposure to weather including hot and cold climates.
Ability to work extra hours when projectsdemand.
Salary and CompensationSalary range: $80,200 - $110,200.
