Primary FunctionAs an Assembly Engineer, you will perform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision, overseeing a significant engineering project from inception to completion. Reporting to you will be two technicians.
ResponsibilitiesParticipate in industry groups and perform advanced engineering tasks under limited supervision. Oversee all aspects of a significant engineering project, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion. Develop action plans and estimate resource requirements for project completion. Prepare monthly progress and cost reports for top management. Utilize CAE tools such as Solidworks, MATLAB, Lab View, Minitab, EES, CFD, FEA. Develop and apply engineering standards and procedures, providing advice on engineering issues.
Analyze and identify causes of component failures. Provide technical solutions for manufacturing or customer field issues, demonstrating familiarity with multiple operations. Lead the design group during the conceptual phase of product development, utilizing team management skills. Conduct project meetings and prepare reports to communicate project status within and beyond the project team. Finish assigned engineering projects according to customer specifications, within schedule and budget limitations, coordinating activities of the engineering team, contractors, and vendors.
Lead brainstorming activities for specific needs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field. Leadership skills and experience. Assembly and process engineering experience. Minimum of 3 years of related work experience or training. 6 sigma or FMEA experience is a plus. Excellent analytical and organizational skills, adept at solving complex problems. Experience leading Kaizen-related or Continuous Improvement activities. Ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through root cause analysis.
Strong written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of SAP and MRP systems is beneficial. Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD. Experience with direct reports.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a Related Field.
