Graduate Mechanical Engineer - Industrial

At I.C. Thomasson Associates, Inc, a Salas O’Brien Company, we are dedicated to impacting clients and the world through engineered solutions. This role focuses on industrial projects in Power Generation, Central Utility Plants, and Process Manufacturing Facilities.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and will work under the supervision of a registered Professional Engineer. Responsibilities include assisting with project documentation, drafting, client communication, and engineering design.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, studies, permits, and designs for assigned projects.
  • Use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Assist in client contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Work with a Senior Engineer and participate in all the work the Senior Engineer is performing as an observer.
  • Operate engineering software to solve specific problems and input the required data.
  • Familiarize themselves with state-of-the-art design and various state and local regulations.
  • Work to increase technical competency in the design of compressible and in compressible piping systems, development of Process Flow and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, and general Industrial and Process design.
Qualifications
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
  • Past experience through co‑op or summer internships helps.
  • Willingness to accept direction and supervision while being encouraged to solve engineering problems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to assist in client contact.
  • Proficiency with engineering software and the ability to input data required by programs.
  • Commitment to learn and apply industry best practices and regulations.
  • Team spirit and willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
