Job Overview
We are seeking a Project Civil/Environmental Engineer located in Nashville, TN. The role offers a compensation range of $80,000 to $95,000 per year.
Responsibilities- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing support to the senior technical lead and supervising staff‑level engineers, technicians, and CAD professionals.
- Oversee personnel needs, assign work, meet completion dates, interpret and ensure consistent application of firm standards.
- Coordinate day‑to‑day tasks of technical staff assigned to projects by assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance.
- Oversee development of project document deliverables, including outlines and layouts, technical writing of reports, data interpretation, and the development of graphical presentations.
- Support senior leaders in consulting clients to prepare plans, reports, and assessments.
- Manage project budget and hours, utilize time effectively to complete tasks within assigned time frames.
- Act as client manager to understand customer needs and distribute work assignments and proposals to appropriate teams.
- Communicate to leadership when potential issues are foreseen or arise that may inhibit performing tasks within the allotted schedule and budget.
- Oversee project set‑up and authorization paperwork, including project authorizations, contracts, sub‑contracts, purchase order requests, and project schedules.
- Oversee project financial management duties, including project projections, invoicing, subcontractor invoice approvals, progress reporting, and contract compliance.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Exercise safe work practices by following all company safety rules and OSHA regulations, including attendance at all required safety training programs.
- Participate in the company’s continuous improvement programs and provide support to team efforts.
- Keep up‑to‑date with industry trends by completing formal training, reviewing professional publications, and attending professional workshops.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare permit documents, construction plans, and specifications for facilities including landfills, recycling facilities, transfer stations, and convenience centers.
- Prepare Part B Permit Application Documents and associated permit documents for Industrial Facilities.
- Prepare permit documents, construction plans, and specifications for remedial actions related to Voluntary, RCRA, and CERCLA clean‑up actions.
- Direct construction quality assurance activities during construction.
- Prepare SWPPPs, SPCC Plans, and ARAP Applications.
- Prepare construction cost estimates and financial assurance estimates.
- Conduct Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- 4–8 years of related experience.
- Possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Advanced knowledge of engineering principles.
- Knowledge of computer‑aided software (Microsoft Suite, Google Suite, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, etc.).
- Ability to complete and maintain HAZWOPER certification with the 40‑hour HAZWOPER environmental health and safety class, and annual 8‑hour refresher class.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Outgoing, team player with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Proficient in Civil 3D, Hydro Cad, and associated programs and analysis.
