Job Overview
Mechanical Engineer - Commissioning Agent. Dewberry's Nashville, TN office is looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer – Commissioning Agent to join the dynamic commissioning department. You will bring 8+ years of engineering experience and expertise in mechanical systems across a variety of projects.

Location:
Nashville, Tennessee, United States
- Execute commissioning services on a variety of project types.
- Actively support and coordinate with the commissioning team to execute projects and uphold commitments.
- Perform design reviews of HVAC sequence of operation and create mechanical system testing procedures, and test them in the field.
- Review air and water test and balance processes, analyze TAB reports, and identify issues.
- Visit client facilities to gather data for mechanical system testing.
- Create system installation and testing documents.
- Maintain knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and identify deficiencies.
- Apply building codes and make decisions related to them.
- Read and understand building plans and specifications.
- Work safely around electrical systems up to 600 volts.
- Communicate effectively with clients, construction trades, and design professionals.
- Work flexible hours and in hot or cold environments; climb stairs, ladders, use lift trucks; moderate lifting.
- Travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Accomplished engineer with 8+ years of experience.
- Experience in commissioning and mechanical systems.
- Commissioning process certification preferred or ability to acquire within the first six months.
- Business development experience a plus.
- Professional Engineering license a plus or ability to acquire.
- Self‑motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of HVAC controls systems such as JCI, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens, etc.; familiarity with HVAC chilled water and DX systems (chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHU, RTU, ERU, VAVs, exhaust, FCU).
