Project Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to provide design support for developing tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and full construction plan sets. This role involves reviewing site information, design inputs, and assisting in product selection based on site conditions. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a global team to update product configurations, develop drafting standards, and potentially automate procedures.
Conducting value engineering to reduce project costs and coordinating design standards with teams from different regions are key aspects of this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide design support to develop tracker layouts, CAD blocks, mechanical sets, and full construction plan sets.
- Review pertinent site information and design inputs, assisting in selecting appropriate product types based on site conditions.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers in India to update product configurations and drafting standards.
- Potentially develop automation procedures to streamline processes.
- Conduct value engineering exercises to lower costs on individual projects.
- Coordinate with designers in other regions to create and update new product standards and address project-related issues.
- Learn and apply topography and hydrology analysis to determine optimal tracker placement.
- Prioritize tasks to provide the best support to internal and external customers.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in project management, construction, project engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and electrical engineering.
- Experience in construction management and design.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the solar industry.
- Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated team player.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- BS in Civil/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Knowledge of drafting standards and construction sheet sets.
- Experience in AutoCAD Civil is a plus.
- Knowledge of project design of PV plants is advantageous.
- A passion for solar energy is beneficial.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $45.67/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
