PLC Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams on creating and implementing PLC and other device programs
• Train and guide other engineers on programming task.
• Develop and complete accurate programs utilizing customer documentation, prior experience, and verbal guidance with minimal oversight.
• Create program files for system controllers and other devices:
• Learn other PLC software as needed
• Programming primarily in ladder logic with exposure to structured text, function block, etc.
• Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) configuration and parameter settings
• Other device programming/configuration such as: ASi gateways, Managed Ethernet switches, remote I/O modules, etc.
• Support, guide, and lead bench testing of system programs
• Support and guide the commissioning and testing of system programs. Aid during troubleshooting efforts and functionality changes
• Develop knowledge of controller/device capabilities, hardware requirements, system architecture, etc.
• Specify material, time, and other requirements for program development and deployment
• Travel up to 20% annually

• 6+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Proficiency with Studio 5000 or related software.
