Overview

As a Water Resources Engineer in Franklin, TN, you will lead and contribute to diverse projects, including stormwater management, environmental permitting, MS4 compliance, watershed planning, and municipal engineering. You'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions while supporting sustainable growth and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead environmental planning and permitting for complex transportation and infrastructure projects.
  • Interpret and apply local, state, and federal environmental regulations throughout project life cycles.
  • Advise municipalities on environmental policies, technical standards, and design guidelines.
  • Oversee QA/QC for technical deliverables, including reports, permit applications, and design documentation.
  • Manage project scopes, budgets, invoicing, and financial forecasting.
  • Provide mentorship and performance oversight for junior and mid-level engineers.
  • Drive client engagement and business development, including proposals and strategic growth initiatives.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and water resource engineering.
  • Strong understanding of environmental regulations, including the Clean Water Act and state-specific permitting frameworks.
  • Established relationships with regulatory agencies and municipal governments in Tennessee.
  • Proven leadership in mentoring and developing engineering teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Advanced project management expertise, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to manage staff utilization and optimize resources for efficient project delivery.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and client-facing interactions.
