VDC Department Opportunity: VDC Specialist - Mechanical Plumbing
Location:
Nashville, TN. Minimum 1 year experience with plumbing design and fabrication. This role supports the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) team by creating, managing, and coordinating 3D models and drawings for plumbing systems.
- Generating detailed deliverables such as spool drawings/maps, installation drawings, and hanger maps.
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, and other team members to ensure accurate and efficient integration of plumbing systems within the overall building model.
- Designing and modeling plumbing systems based on P&IDs, design drawings, or engineering markups.
- Providing technical support to project teams by troubleshooting VDC-related issues and assisting with model revisions as needed.
- Developing hanger and supplemental steel layout and fabrication plans.
- Supporting field and shop operations through the project lifecycle.
- Reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of modeling and design work, adhering to project codes, specifications and standards.
- Associate’s degree in applied science or equivalent experience in CAD Drafting, engineering, construction management, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in plumbing design, VDC, or a related field.
- Knowledge of IPC, UPC or other plumbing codes.
- Familiarity with REVIT, AutoCAD, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Planner. Strong computer skills are expected.
- Willingness to travel as needed for project needs and team collaboration.
- Ability to work within deadlines and manage multiple duties with consistent attention to detail.
- Strong work ethic and capability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in identifying potential problems or risks and developing creative solutions.
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $100,000
