North American Sortation Center (NASC) Engineering is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented Operations Engineers to support Process Design Engineering initiatives, developing and delivering next generation, world-class sortation and transportation systems. This position will have an impact on both design and process design engineering for the NASC.

We’re looking to add a high-impact Operations Engineer to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams develop innovative and cost-effective solutions for our sortation and distribution systems. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch along with ownership of Process Designs end to end complimenting each Design.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow.

Key job responsibilities
  • Coordinate efforts to develop optimal solutions and processes for the sortation and transportation network through material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
  • Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.
  • Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
  • Effective communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions.
  • 50% travel requirement to visit sites and support projects.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment experience
  • Experience managing cross-functional projects and initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level
  • Experience working with and managing third party vendors
  • Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
  • Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems and high-speed manufacturing
  • Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
