Traffic Engineer

Nashville or Murfreesboro, TN

Neel‑Schaffer is an Engineering News‑Record Top 200 design, planning, and construction‑management firm. We have an exciting opportunity for a Traffic Engineer in our Murfreesboro or Nashville offices. The role involves traffic signal design plans, traffic signal timing, corridor studies, traffic impact studies, traffic operation studies, traffic control plans, traffic simulation modeling, and safety studies. The ideal candidate works with the latest simulation programs such as HCS, Synchro, PTV Vistro/Vissim, and SIDRA.

• BSCE from an ABET‑accredited university.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Tennessee or ability to obtain Tennessee PE within 6 months.
• Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) preferred.
• Experience on Tennessee Department of Transportation projects preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive traffic/transportation experience.

• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage and assist in production of design deliverables.
• Proficiency with Micro Station, GIS data visualization or equivalent design platforms.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Critical thinking and problem‑solving with planning and conceptualizing skills.
• Excellent team collaboration and relationship building.
