The Field Services Engineer is responsible for repairing, maintaining, calibrating, and verifying complex medical imaging equipment to ensure safe, accurate, and reliable performance. This role supports regulatory compliance by maintaining radiation output accuracy, documentation, equipment databases, and inventory while troubleshooting technical issues. The Field Services Engineer serves as a technical resource for clinicians, vendors, and other team members, providing guidance and mentorship to keep imaging systems operational and minimizing downtime.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience servicing medical imaging equipment, strong diagnostic and computer skills, and a commitment to precision, safety, and continuous professional development.

  • Repair, maintain, install, calibrate, and troubleshoot medical imaging equipment, including radiographic rooms, C-arms, ultrasound, and mammography systems.
  • Perform equipment testing and verification to ensure imaging systems operate safely, accurately, and reliably.
  • Monitor and maintain radiation output and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues, including error codes, power supplies, hard drives, networking, and system diagnostics.
  • Provide technical support to clinicians and staff when equipment performance impacts patient care or workflow.
  • Maintain accurate equipment records, service documentation, databases, and inventory.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for equipment repairs, installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to other biomedical equipment personnel.
  • Respond quickly to equipment failures and minimize downtime to keep imaging services operational.
  • Use Microsoft Office, Excel, and networking applications to support equipment management and documentation.
  • Maintain a high level of precision and attention to detail when servicing medical imaging systems.
  • Follow all safety, regulatory, and organizational procedures while performing equipment service.
Field Services Engineer Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing medical imaging equipment.
  • Experience with radiographic rooms, C-arms, ultrasound, mammography, or similar medical imaging systems.
  • Strong electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues, including error codes, power supplies, hard drives, and system diagnostics.
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and networking applications.
  • Knowledge of medical imaging equipment, calibration, radiation safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • 2-year technical/electronics degree or equivalent technical experience.
  • Biomedical equipment certification or completion of a training/certification program is preferred/acceptable.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
