Transportation
Project Engineer - Roadways design
in our Nashville, Tennessee office.
Your creativity will be applied to a variety of projects including urban and rural roadways, freeways and interchanges, multi-modal facilities, and alternative intersection designs. In addition, you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and meaningful transportation initiatives, including Complete Streets, Safety Improvements,Alternative Delivery Projects,Planning and Environmental Linkages (PEL) studies, and more! These projects are at the forefront of shaping safer, more sustainable, and more connected communities.

This role has the ability to be on a hybrid work schedule if needed.

YourKey Responsibilities
- Perform as project manager, and/or technical specialist on roadway engineering projects, responsible for invoicing, managing, and monitoring financial performance of project budgets.
- Serve as a technical specialist and consultant to other engineering disciplines on transportation-related projects.
- Prepare reports and develop planning documents.
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders to understand client's needs.
- Identify and analyze the principal design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the project's purpose and the client's needs.
- Produce detailed, high-quality design plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable procedures and standards.
- Peer review plans and provide quality control reviews of technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
- Mentor junior staff in technical design elements and the development of project documents.
- Actively identify project pursuit opportunities, manage client relationships, develop new clients, and assist in the preparation of proposals to win those pursuits.
