POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

NIL Industry leader, Blueprint Sports, is looking for a Director of Finance to support the growth of the business. In this role, you will partner closely with leadership while leading the annual budget and quarterly forecast. We are looking for a self-starter with incredible attention to detail, financial acumen, aptitude for technology, and a desire to work within a fast-paced environment.

This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

This is a full-time position based in Nashville, TN.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
  • Lead and oversee the budgeting, forecasting, and month‑end close processes for Blueprint Sports and its affiliated properties.
  • Partner with senior leadership to provide strategic financial insights, scenario planning, and data‑driven decision support.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for revenue forecasting, expense tracking, capital planning, and long‑term financial strategy.
Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare and deliver executive‑level financial reports, including variance analysis, performance dashboards, and KPI tracking.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support business initiatives, investment decisions, and operational improvements.
Operational Finance & Controls
  • Review and approve all financial transactions, including checks, deposits, reimbursements, and wire transfers.
  • Oversee event settlements in collaboration with the Director of Events, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in contract review and approval processes for clients, vendors, subcontractors, and concessionaires.
  • Ensure proper internal controls are in place and adhered to across all financial operations.
  • Oversee student‑athlete payments on a monthly or quarterly basis as needed.
Compliance & Tax
  • Coordinate with external accounting firms to ensure timely and accurate preparation of local, state, and federal tax filings.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, reporting standards, and audit requirements.
Cash Flow & Treasury Management
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational needs and strategic investments.
  • Oversee banking relationships and optimize treasury functions.
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Evaluate and implement financial systems and tools to improve reporting, forecasting, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.
HR
  • Oversee staff payroll, onboarding of new hires, health benefits, and expense reimbursements.
Other Duties
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the evolving needs of the organization.
Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent work experience; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, MBA) is a plus
  • 5+ years reporting and forecasting in an FP&A environment, ideally within professional sports, management consulting, start‑ups, investment banking, and/or public accounting
  • Leadership skills and deep experience working in highly cross‑functional and strategic roles
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into actionable insights; ability to align financial strategies with overall business objectives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying financial concepts to diverse audiences
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly in PowerPoint and Excel (i.e., xlookups, pivot tables, if/then statements and other advanced calculations and formulas)
  • Proficiency in financial reporting systems such as Quick Books, and more.
