Senior Financial Accountant

SHR Talent is partnering with a client in the Nashville, TN area in it's search for a Senior Financial Accountant. The Senior Financial Accountant will serve as a key member of the accounting and finance team, combining strong technical accounting skills with forward-looking financial planning and analysis (FP&A). This Senior Financial Accountant role supports budgeting, forecasting, project financial oversight, and cash flow management across multiple entities.

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Financial Accountant will work closely with development, operations, and deal teams to provide financial visibility and decision-making support. This position is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys partnering with non-accounting stakeholders, building forecasting models, analyzing budget-to-actual results, and helping establish financial guardrails within a growing organization.

• Support month-end and quarter-end close, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP
• Assist with multi-entity accounting and maintain accurate, timely reporting
• Lead budget vs. actual variance analysis and present insights to leadership
• Build and maintain corporate and project-level forecasting models
• Develop and manage short- and mid-term cash flow forecasts, including 13-week cash flow reporting
• Partner cross-functionally with development and operations teams to monitor project budgets, cost-to-complete metrics, and financial performance
• Review funding requests, lender draw packages, and related general ledger activity
• Strengthen internal controls and support ongoing process improvements
• Assist with audit coordination and annual reporting requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3–5+ years of progressive accounting and/or FP&A experience
• Strong preference for experience in project accounting, construction, real estate development, or multi-entity environments
• Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial modeling
• ERP system experience preferred
• Strong analytical and communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
