Overview
We’re looking for a Finance Manager, Amazon Transportation Claims and Insurance to support corporate claims and strategy across our Transportation network (DSP, Middle Mile, Flex). This high‑visibility role interfaces with stakeholders across GRMC, Operations, Safety, Finance, Accounting, Legal, and Risk teams.
Key responsibilities include managing month‑end close, weekly forecasting, and reporting for on‑road corporate claims and admin costs. The role requires close partnership with Global Risk to analyze claim development trends affecting NA Operations P&L and balance sheet reserves. The position involves understanding business trends, analyzing cost drivers, and collaborating with partner Finance teams to improve claims allocation methodology.
The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and financial modeling skills, combined with excellent communication abilities and executive presence. Success requires the ability to influence without authority and navigate complex stakeholder relationships. Experience in analyzing large datasets and presenting compelling insights to senior leadership is essential. The role offers significant opportunities to shape corporate claims strategy and drive process improvements.
Key Job Responsibilities- Lead Corporate Claims planning, reporting and financial modeling across Amazon Transportation.
- Drive process improvement/automation through partner teams (S&A, business partners).
- Lead Director/VP‑level reviews using effective document writing and data to explain trade‑offs and recommendations.
- Identify incomplete or inaccurate data, ascertain root causes, and partner on resolution.
- Prioritize work, manage multiple priorities, resolve issues, and meet deadlines independently.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
