About the OpportunityA rapidly growing, private equity-backed organization preparing for a future public market event is seeking a strategic and hands‑on Vice President, Corporate Controller – SEC Reporting & Pre‑IPO Readiness to join its executive finance leadership team in the greater Nashville market.
This is a rare opportunity to lead the transformation of the accounting and financial reporting function ahead of a potential IPO while partnering directly with executive leadership, investors, auditors, and board stakeholders.
The company offers executive-level visibility, long-term equity upside, and the ability to shape a scalable public-company infrastructure from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities- Lead all external financial reporting activities, including:
- Technical accounting research and implementation
- SOX readiness and internal controls
- IPO and public-company preparedness initiatives
- Partner with the CFO and executive leadership team on strategic finance initiatives
- Build and mentor a high-performing accounting and reporting organization
- Oversee audit coordination with external auditors and advisors
- Drive operational excellence, process automation, and reporting scalability
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting standards
- Support board presentations, lender reporting, and investor communications
- CPA required
- 12+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience
- Strong SEC reporting and technical accounting background
- Experience with IPO readiness, public company environments, or PE-backed growth organizations strongly preferred
- Big 4 public accounting foundation highly desirable
- Proven leadership in building scalable accounting infrastructure
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Base salary up to $300,000
