Job Overview
Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant with entertainment business management experience to join a dedicated team of professionals. The role focuses on preparing various client reports, simple to moderately complex tax returns, tax projections, and conducting tax research. This position operates on a hybrid schedule from our Nashville, TN office.
Responsibilities- Prepare individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns
- Review General Ledger and reports to assist in the preparation of tax projections
- Perform tax research and planning to resolve client tax issues
- Correspond with stakeholders regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and tax audits
- Prepare closeouts for loan‑out corporations and analyze payroll withholding requirements for federal and state levels
- Assist in preparing financial reports that may include net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, tour reconciliations, etc.
- Assist with state, local, and international tax clearances for touring artists
- Support the client service team with additional projects as needed
- 1+ years of experience preparing and/or reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
- 3+ years in a similar role is highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
- Familiarity with Agil Link is a plus
- Familiarity with CCH tax software is a plus
- CPA or CPA eligibility is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills including communication, time management, emotional intelligence, adaptability, active listening, and critical thinking
- Quick learner of new systems and processes
- Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
This is a non-exempt, overtime-eligible position. The annualized base pay range is expected to be between $60,000 and $80,000, depending on experience, subject-matter expertise, geographic location, and skill set. Other rewards may include an annual bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
