Tax Principal - Health Care Industry

Overview

Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm with an entrepreneurial culture and a strong growth track record. We are looking for a Tax Partner to lead our Health Care Services practice in the TN/GA/FL market.

• Lead Baker Tilly’s tax services, providing federal tax compliance and consulting services to Health Care clients.
• Serve as a valued tax business advisor, leading client relationships on day‑to‑day tax matters for middle‑market to multinational clients.
• Consult on technical matters and special projects across corporate and flow‑through tax, accounting methods, ASC
  740, research and development, and credits & incentives.
• Research tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and recommend solutions to clients.
• Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complex state, local, high‑net‑worth, international, and other issues.
• Oversee tax‑planning for federal and individual clients, reviewing complex research related to business transactions.
• Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on client operations.
• Manage client engagement staffing, billings, collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met.
• Network and build relationships internally and externally to acquire new clients, projects and revenue.
• Participate in RFPs to pursue additional clients and services for the firm.
• Collaborate with other service line leaders on tax service positioning, branding, strategy and messaging.
• Invest in professional development individually and through firm‑wide learning programs.
• Support the growth of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, assisting associates in meeting goals and recruiting new staff.
• Demonstrate leadership, initiative, excellent team skills and high ethical standards.
• Represent the firm at community events, firm functions and other meetings.

• Bachelor's Degree required, Master’s or advanced degree desirable.
• CPA or JD required.
• 15+ years of experience providing federal tax compliance and consulting services in a professional services firm, with relevant industry experience preferred.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
• Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project‑management and communication skills.
• Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, stay current on applicable strategies and deliver quality work on time.
• Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
