Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Financial Manager, Financial Reporting
The Opportunity
FFMC is seeking a fractional CFO to lead its finance function at a consequential moment: new service lines coming online, and an active strategic planning effort with the board and CEO.
This is a hybrid role by design. FFMC needs a finance leader who can set strategy, communicate with hospital, service and donor partners, present to the board, and who is equally willing to roll up their sleeves on financial statements, cash management and the monthly close process alongside a small team. Candidates who see themselves only at the strategy level, or only in the books, will not be the right fit.
The fractional CFO reports to the CEO, serves as the staff lead to the Finance and Audit Committee, and is supported by a senior accountant who carries the day-to-day accounting work.
What You Will Own- Monthly financial statement preparation, with management and board reporting and plain-language variance analysis
- Cash management and a rolling cashflow forecast, including oversight of long-term investments
- The annual operating budget and long-range (five-year) financial planning, including budgets for new service lines
- Consolidation of FFMC and its affiliated support organization, and management of the annual audit end to end
- Selected hands-on cash and disbursement controls retained at the CFO level to preserve segregation of duties
- Financial modeling in support of revenue diversification and strategic partnerships
- Supervision and development of the senior accountant
- Finance and Audit Committee leadership
- Strategic partner to the CEO to ensure that all clinic initiatives are financially sustainable
- Senior finance leadership experience (CFO, VP Finance or controller stepping up) in organizations of comparable or larger budget size
- Both strategic and hands-on capability: comfortable presenting a five-year plan to the board and preparing the financial statements it rests on
- Working knowledge of the healthcare industry, enough to engage credibly with hospital systems and service partners
- Experience managing an external audit end to end, including multi-entity consolidation
- Cash-flow management experience in an organization that has navigated tight liquidity, not just steady-state budgeting
- Skill presenting financial information to a board in plain language, including delivering hard news constructively
- Alignment with FFMC's faith-based mission and comfort working in that culture
- CPA
- Prior fractional or interim CFO experience
- Nonprofit healthcare experience: free clinic, FQHC, community health center or similar safety-net provider
- Experience with third-party medical billing or revenue-cycle operations
- Familiarity with Nashville-area nonprofit, faith-based or healthcare networks
- Experience managing a small finance team
This is a part-time independent contractor (1099) engagement, structured as hourly or as a monthly retainer, approximately 20 hours per week initially, with the expectation that the commitment moderates after the first year. The initial engagement term is 12 months, renewable. FFMC is open to structuring the engagement to fit the right candidate, whether as regular weekly days or a retainer with defined heavy months.
This is an on-site role at FFMC's Nashville campus, not a remote or virtual position. Target start is November or December 2026.
Compensation is commensurate with experience and engagement structure.
