YourKey Responsibilities
It’s fair to say there’s no average day for a Sales and Use Tax Analyst - so you’re likely to spend your time on a diverse array of projects, responsibilities and tasks. Whatever you’re working on, our clients will turn to you for up‑to‑the‑minute tax advice they can always rely on. To make that happen, you’ll be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role.
As an Analyst on the Indirect Sales & Use Team, your role will include:
Analyzing an evolving portfolio of complex tax operations to provide meaningful business insights
Identifying potential opportunities and risks and communicating these to our clients
Learning and researching current market trends, to maintain your credibility as a trusted advisor
Developing clear, intelligent plans and approaches to improve our clients’ tax activities
Researching our clients business operations and building long-lasting relationships to tailor your advice to their specific needs
Collaborating with a motivated team of professionals
Actively working towards obtaining either an LL.M. in Taxation or Juris Doctor, supported by a strong academic record .
Membership or anticipated membership in a US state bar.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Tax technical skills and experience in tax research, writing and compliance.
An interest working in our team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year .
The ability to prioritize when working on multiple complex projects .
The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
You must reside within a commutable distance of the office location associated with this position.
