Background Check:
This position requires a criminal background check. Therefore, you may be required to provide information about your criminal history in order to be considered for this position.
- Protect, Preserve, and Interpret the story of the Cherokee Removal Memorial Site along the Trail of Tears.
- Serve as a Commissioned Officer, providing and maintaining park safety and security, including law enforcement and basic first aid.
- Manage full time staff members and job share positions and support growth and development through the performance management cycle.
- Oversee and implement the Park Strategic Management Plan and uphold a set annual budget.
- Work closely with staff to maintain/oversee all park operations, including managing multiple capital and park improvement projects.
- Provide oversight for all operations and amenities within the park that generates revenue.
- Support community outreach programs and foster partnerships with neighboring agencies.
Preferred candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in natural resources, forestry, wildlife biology, history, anthropology, archeology, or a related field and have five or more years of cultural or natural resource management experience. The candidate is required to be a state commissioned officer recognized by the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy or is willing to become commissioned.
