The Appraiser 2 is a Non-Civil service entry level position located in the Assessor of Property and is responsible for performing and/or contributing to the duties necessary to list, measure, appraise, and assess residential, commercial and/or personal property for ad valorem tax purposes.
- Assist with interviewing taxpayers, investigating, and gathering data required to determine the value of personal property or real property.
- Collect, document, and enter factual information and subjective findings as to real property parcels and improvements.
- Utilize assigned software and hardware in-house and in-the-field as instructed.
- List and measure real property improvements according to specified methodologies and standards.
- Perform desk-top and in-field property inspections.
- Receive and respond appropriately to constituent requests for information and/or assistance.
- Respond to informal review requests.
- Successfully participate in prescribed training.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
Additional appraisal experience may be considered in lieu of education.
LICENSE REQUIREDValid Driver License

Note:
Per Metro Ordinance No. SO94-1078. All employees of the Metropolitan Government shall be residents of the State of Tennessee or become residents of the state within six (6) months of employment as a prerequisite to employment with the Metropolitan Government.
