This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.
Alpha Gov is seeking a Housing Policy Consultant to help Indian River County and Henry County evaluate housing conditions and shape practical, equitable policies addressing affordability, supply, preservation, workforce housing, and implementation.
What you'll do:- Analyze housing supply, demand, affordability, tenure, cost burden, development patterns, and demographic trends
- Review local policies, codes, programs, incentives, preservation tools, and institutional capacity
- Engage public officials, housing providers, employers, residents, developers, and community organizations
- Develop actionable policy options, prioritization criteria, implementation steps, and performance measures
- Contribute housing-policy qualifications and past-performance narrative to Alpha Gov proposals when permissioned
- Housing-policy, housing-needs assessment, affordable-housing, or community-development consulting experience
- Ability to combine housing-market data, policy research, stakeholder engagement, and implementation planning
- Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites
- County or municipal housing strategy and ordinance experience
- Knowledge of LIHTC, HOME, CDBG, local housing trust funds, zoning, or preservation programs
- Prior Florida, Georgia, or Southeast public-sector housing consulting
