Job SummaryGood Power employs a highly-skilled and professional global staff that bring diverse experiences from the private, public and nonprofit sectors. The Director, Renewables owns Good Power's live portfolio of county-level engagements from first contact through final vote. That portfolio includes an expanding set of project engagements alongside a set of active moratoria, each carrying its own hearing calendar, ordinance clock, and local politics.
Approval schedules are set by county governments and they do not move, so a missed hearing window is a lost opportunity.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Renewables this role supplies disciplined delivery against it across many county timelines running at once, plus the judgment to adapt and elevate when necessary. Campaign strategy is set at the team level.
This is a full-time, remote role based anywhere in the United States. The incumbent will operate from a home office and needs to be willing to travel and flexibility to work irregular hours.
Key Responsibilities Campaign Ownership and Delivery- Own a live portfolio of county engagements end to end, from initial assessment through hearing, vote, and ordinance outcome
- Stand up local support committees in priority counties and keep them active across the full approval timeline
- Lead campaigns that move counties out of moratoria and into approved projects, working the ordinance and renewal clocks that govern them
- Share and leverage subject matter expertise in community engagement, stakeholder relations, and project deployment across a variety of renewable energy technologies
- Develop guides and collateral for engaging with local officials, stakeholders, and communities to promote renewable energy projects
- Build and maintain relationships with county officials, planning and zoning staff, renewable energy developers, community leaders, funders, partners and other key stakeholders
- Draft reports, memos, letters and other communications for stakeholders
- Support advocacy efforts for policy and regulatory changes that streamline renewable energy deployment locally and at the state level
- Support community engagement efforts with partners and other stakeholders, including town halls, community events, or other opportunities
- Translate team-level strategy into tailored county and state campaign plans, then lead their execution based on local conditions and community dynamics.
