Stockroom and Lab Coordinator, Chemistry/Biochemistry - College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Prepare the laboratory for the students, including basic experimental work, and maintain the necessary stock of chemicals and equipment while complying with safety and OSHA regulations.
High school diploma with substantial college coursework in Chemistry. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry preferred.
At least 3 months of related experience, including laboratory experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Typical Duties- Prepare solutions, reagents, and unknowns for student use and analysis in laboratory as instructed by faculty. Clean laboratories and stockrooms.
- Monitor and maintain chemical instrumentation used in laboratories.
- Maintain accurate records of student laboratory drawer content to bill students for missing or broken equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of unknowns assigned to students and provide this information to faculty for grading purposes.
- Ensure sufficient inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment by maintaining a computerized inventory and overseeing the acquisition of necessary items through a variety of purchasing options. Maintain accurate expense records for monthly expenditure reconciling.
- Use appropriate safety and OSHA precautions in handling, storing, labeling, recycling, and disposing chemicals, including working with teaching assistants, student workers and students. Stay current on OSHA rules and regulations through attending the appropriate training and participating in related associations.

Stay current on OSHA and EPA rules and regulations through attending the appropriate training and participating in related associations. Work with teaching assistants, student workers and students to maintain compliance with OSHA and EPA rules and regulations.
