Job Summary:

The Sonographer uses diagnostic medical equipment to diagnose various conditions. Specializations may include obstetric/gynecologic, abdominal, neurosonography, or breast sonography.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review patient’s medical history and physician’s instructions.
  • Prepare equipment and select appropriate settings.
  • Explain procedures to patients and record relevant medical history.
  • Apply gel and operate ultrasound equipment to capture images.
  • Analyze images and assist in preliminary diagnosis.
  • Maintain patient records and equipment.
  • Follow safety and infection control policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
